For Sale is a 1923 Antique Brunswick Balke Collender Monarch Pool Table at regulation size of 4 1/2' x 9'

This table belongs to a friend of mine in York, PA. This table has been in his family since 1965 when his father originally purcahsed the table. The table came from Young & Bussers Pool Hall Cigars & Slots in center square downtown York. Young & Bussers was in business from 1915-1935 and I can only image all the fun that was had in that place.

The table is fully restored and in excellent shape. The owner is looking for serious buyers and has the price set to sell at $6,000.

Any questions or further picture request please feel free to pm or email me at kevinlindstrom@msn.com

Thanks

Kevin

very nice table; how does it play

Sorry, this is not a BBC Monarch table. The Monarch was made in the mid to late 1800s, and is one of the most sought after antique pool tables in history. More info on the Monarch here. I assume you/they thought it was a Monarch because it has that name on the name plate embedded in the end rail, but it actually says Monarch Cushions, which was their brand of cushion at the time.

What you have here is probably a Wellington. The Remington is also similar, but was offered in quarter sawn oak or mahogany, and has a very slightly different profile on the table skirts.

Search the Brunswick picture gallery of antique tables here to make your own determination, and good luck with your sale! :)

I used to have a table IDENTICAL to that one. I bought it from my wife's Uncle and sold it years later for a HUGE profit. I wish I had kept the 8 original BBC house cues. They were in pretty good shape.

Mr. Hoppe's right. It's not a Monarch.
