Here's a 1st Edition Blackboar Custom cue.Model AS-5

Butt weighs 15.9 oz.

(1) Shaft 3.9 oz. and 12.8mm

This cue is in 90% condition. It looks brand new.
Butt is flawless,not a scratch.
It has been in a closet for many years, without any use. And before then, it had minimal use.

The only little thing, and that is perhaps the reason why I can’t say the condition is 100%, the shaft has a slight roll.
Cue is straight, and the lift does not affect playability in any way.

For a 20 + year-old cue. The condition is totally immaculate.

Veneers,ferrule,inlays are all ivory.

And the cue is original all the way to my understanding, wrap,shaft,etc

It hits unbelievable! It has that magic of the good Bushkas or Szambotis,it truly does. The follow and draw shots just seem effortless. The balance's sick!
You could tell by how the cue ball reacts, how well-made this cue was.

Wow my dad has a very similar 4pt cocobolo, I'm sure he'd be surprised to know the cue is worth double what he paid for it back in '90. I believe he also has a 6pt with a bit more ivory in it. I'm gonna have to let him know what the market is for Black Boar cues these days.

I'm sure your Dad's cue has appreciated quite a bit since he bought it.The problem is selling a cue, even a BB is tough in this current economic environment.Just because things "should" be worth a lot of money doesn't mean they will sell at those prices.It is a buyers market right now and cues are only bringing fractions of what we think they are worth.I sell a couple cues and the market is very,very weak.BTW,if your Dad wants to sell a BB cue,I would be interested.Thanks.
