Michael Bender Custom cue.
Early 90’s.
One of the 1st ones he made.
Ebony and birds eye. Standard 5-pointer.
2 shafts made by Bender within last 16 months. Both used.
Both with ivory ferrules. And joint protectors.
Specs:
Butt 15.5 oz
12.7mm shaft(1) 4.1 oz
13mm shaft(1) 4.2 oz
19.6 oz cue
The ring work is dark brown ebony, but both shafts rings are more like dark ebony. Very hard to notice, as you can see, but if you look close you can see it.
The original shafts got to be too skinny,so I sold them.12mm shafts or less, have no value to me.
Newer shafts play a lot better than the original shafts anyway
Cue is dead straight.
Butt has some dings, definitely would need a refinish.
If the ring work being mismatched bothers you you could easily get another shaft made by Bender, with perfectly matched rings
The linen wrap is original, so are the joint protectors
Many cue aficionados love the hit of Bender better than Southwest. Here's your opportunity to own a nice oldie, for cheap.
If you value a good hit, a Bender is up there, second to none.
I estimate the value of this cue, even without the original shafts to be around $1400, in this market maybe it’s down to $1200.
And not a crime provably to sell it for $1100.
I played with this cue for a long time, I cannot let it go for less than $1300.
It hits great!
Priced to sell: $1350 including shipping and insurance to CONUS
Here are some pics, thanks for looking:
