I have been forced to terminate my long pursuit of becoming a professional pool player.

After almost 30 years of reading books, pouring over how-to's on Internet forums, and beating the local seniors out of their Social Security money, I've decided to give up my dreams and focus on family and health.

It's been a long and winding road, but it takes a wise man to know when the times comes to put the cue case in the attic. I still plan on attending the Derby City classic every year but only as a spectator.

Failing vision, hand tremors, loss of energy, and required afternoon naps have brought me to yet another of life's crossroads. It's time for me to take the right turn and walk slowly away from past glory and into the setting sun.

No One Pocket?

I don't see why any or all of failing vision, nerves, energy & stamina should be a reason for giving up pool. Pull yourself together man.

Maybe of you lost both arms you should consider packing it in. Only consider mind - look at this guy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-LR2Gk7k7yc

It doesn't sound to me that you have any excuse. Mind you, if your reference to "required afternoon naps" is actually acute narcolepsy, then I can see how this could be a tad inconvenient.
