good stuff, my friends

Great quote, Donald. This is why God called himself " I Am."Donald A. Purdy said:jer9ball, do you think your Karma might have something to do with your rolls? Do you think that maybe you reap what you sow?
I honestly believe that we create our experiences thru everything we think, say, and do. If you do the best you can do today, tomorrow will take care of itself. Plant good seeds and sow good crops. This affects everything in your life. An old friend of mine once told me, " If you got one foot in yesterday and one foot in tomorrow, all you can do is piss all over today. Today is all you really got."
What do you think?

Chokeinator said:I think it's because you are looking at it from the perspective of one fight whereas the boxer is looking at it from the perspective of his life. In the context of the boxer believing god gave him life, the opportunity to provide for himself and his family, the opportunity to do something he loves to do, and the will to do his best it makes sense. When a boxer says God helped him I think he is giving credit for more than that solitary fight. For instance while the loser of course doesn't thank god for his loss I've yet to see a boxer renounce his faith because of a defeat.

The other person doesn't beat me, I beat myself if I lose. And, sometimes when you win, you lose because you still didn't play your best game, which is not a bad thing because it's a chance to learn some new things to get you to that next level.

If it helps you to feel God is in your corner, that's okay with me, I just don't understand why you would think that a religion that is steeped in love, forgiveness and the Golden Rule would be into that kind of thing. The bottom line for me, though, is whatever floats your boat. If it works for you, go for it.
