I recently started playing fargo after i came across the rules on www.playpool.com , anyway i set up a excell spreadsheet for recording the scores, the spreadsheet also includes the rules. I have a couple of spreadsheets for other pool games and as an experiment i have decided to put the fargo spreadsheet zipped as an attachment on this post. If you like it let me know and i will put ones for q-skill and a scorboard for just keeping frame score. If you have any comments please let me know. These are great if your pc or laptop is beside your table.

Nice scoresheet, I like how it tells what your ranking is after each inning.
Please post more if you have some like that.

Hi Steve

I don't understand the comments/instructions underneath about determining order for new innings and sorting data etc....

Also it might be nice for two reasons to enter scores for both the random and the rotation portion of each inning. First, if someone is playing with a laptop beside him, then instead of flipping a coin to signify a switch to rotation, he can just enter the number in the spreadsheet. Second it is useful data to have for those who want to analyze their game at a later date or generally keep track of their progress.

Thanks for the comments, i will deal with them in order. First let me make a quick point you can enter player names in that colum it is not protected.
1. the comments/instructions are for if you have a few players playing at one time, lets say there are five players after each player has shot there first(second ,third etc) inning(rack)

player 1 scores 10
player 2 scores 8
player 3 scores 12
player 4 scores 20
player 5 scores 12

under the rules the order of play must change for the second inning with the player with the highest score going first etc. If two players are tied then the order between them stays the same as the previous inning. In the example above players 3 and 5. Now if you were to follow the instructions and click the mouse onto any of the scoreboxes ie an unprotected box and then click on the data drop down menu on the top of the sheet, then click on sort from the drop down menu, then clicked on ok, what will result is all the players and there scores being rearranged into this order

player 4 (20)
player 3 (12)
player 5 (12)
player 1 (10)
player 2 (8)
This makes it easy for playing this game and avoids players shooting out of turn. I hope that makes things a little clearer.

2. As for you second point, i agree and i am currently trying to get that to work, but i am finding it tough as i am not to great at using excell, i find this sheet still works very well for myself and my friends and if i do get the change perfected i will let you know.

Thanks again for your comments, do you think i should put my other sheets up aswell?

Well I happen to think FARGO is a much superior game to q-skill, but then again I could be a little biased ;-).

If you do choose to add a second cell for the rotation phase of each inning, then I think you should be clear in the instructions whether people are entering the number of *balls* or the number of *points* (twice the number of balls). There was some confusion about that when we used to have online FARGO tournaments. I recommend people enter the number of balls made and let the spreadsheet turn it into points.

I think the 2 seperate cells for random and rotation would be very cool and easier to track stuff.

I helped work on the spreadsheet for the drivermaker tourny and would love to see some of your other stuff for pool.
