I don't know if any ofyou have any favorite shots for the OB-1 but you ain't gonna like it playing me one pocket if you leave anything close to these two.

Do you have any favorite shots that you like doing with the Ob-1 shafts? And NO not the drinking shots, Doug.

So the 5 is frozen but the 3 isn't? For me personally (and I have an OB-1) I find the 3 ball shot is highly dependant on the pocket opening/cut angle for sucess. On some tables you can hit it perfectly but have it hang regardless.

The 5 I think is too tough for me, especially as there's a chance of a scratch downtable in the corner, but I can't recall having attempted a frozen rail shot that far out at that extreme angle before. (Then again I don't play no steekin' One Pocket, so rarely would have to try such a thing.)

I've never shot the rail-first 90+ degree cut in a game but I've done it just messing around. You really don't need a special cue, just a good amount of english and you have to hit it near perfect.

You're correct. You don't need a special cue to make the shot. I've shot it for years with my Bender. It is simply a little easier with the OB-1 shaft because I can gauge the amount of curve that the cue ball is going to do. The squirt is less than my Bender shaft and so I don't have to worry about the extra squirt any longer.

Yes, the 3 isn't frozen and 5 is but the purpose was just to show that both of these shots whether they are frozen or not are fairly easy with the OB 1.

Those careless one pocket players don't fret about hanging a ball in the hole. Often it is better than making the steekin' ball. :D

I think one of the best things about OB-1's is the VERY controllable curve shots that you can shoot.

This has happened many times
"I thought I hooked ya."
"You did."
"But you shot with an almost level cue."
"Pretty cool shaft huh?"
"Let me see that thing."

My favorite shot is like table 2, but the 3-ball is frozen to the rail. And I'm not hitting the 3-ball on the rightside, but on the leftside. I use low right english. Just doing this with my buffalo cue (normal shaft).

I guess my favorite shots with the OB-1 shaft would have to be any shot that I would have normally taken with my old McDermott. So pretty much all shots except jump shots, and breaks! LOL

I find the 5-ball shot a little tougher right now using my OB-1 shaft. I used to be able to compensate beautifully with original shaft, but now I have to learn to aim slighly differently using my OB-1. A few more practice sessions and I'll have it down!

Hi Joey:

Check out this extreme ball first cut shot set up by Corey Harper of Tiger Billiard Products at BCA Nationals this year. It has a similar cut angle as yours. I still don't believe it's possible even though I have made it 3 times.

It must have been your X-Shaft! :D

btw, remember the "propersition bet" idea you had? I have created a place for it...

Way2xtreme! :D :D
I actually make this particular shot better with my Bender cue than the OB-1 shaft. I wonder why? Do I get 50 shots like Louie Knot (the owner of the infamous Sport Palace in New Orleans, started to give me? He then changed his mind and said you get one shot and I give you 50 to 1 odds that you don't make it. The rest of the story over a beer.:)
Thanks,
JoeyA

You won't have any shots that tough if we ever play... no special equipment needed against me.

I think you need new cloth, some armor all and a big stroke to get that one done.
