Felt Too Fast? Watch Video

I'm having a hard time controlling my leaves. My table is like shooting on glass. I posted a thread 860 vs 760 cloth. I believe my table has carom cloth and it is super fast as you can see in the video. I play on a 10 footer so I am not sure as to what cloth is the best for me. I play a lot of 14.1 so I don't want to spend $300 on cloth and find out it's too slow. Any suggestions? Thank you in advance.

I think for your 10 ft you might like the Gorina cloth. It plays fast and last for a long time and wholes it speed well. You could call on it and tell them what you have for more suggestions. Best of luck

This is Gorina. Iv'e had it since I've owned the tabel July 2013. They told me it was a snooker cloth. Do you recommend which Gorina cloth to use? Thanks.

Yep. Pretty quick. Are you in a really dry room? Maybe put in a humidifier and get some moisture in the air. That will slow it down a little bit.

It does look fast. I feel the Gorina will work best for you. How springy are the rails? That will really make a difference in the play as well. Mueller caries the cloth I am talking about. It comes in quite a few speeds. I have played on it a lot and like I said it plays very good.

I am not sure what speed my friend has on his but its not that fast. His is a 9ft. Mueller could give you more info on it. You might could call Diamond Billiards as well and they could recommend something for you. They make 10 ft tables also.

My rails are unbelievably true and fast. The balls come off just as fast as they hit which makes for an absolutely true bank shot. This is Gorina, I purchased it from Muller July 2013, they said it would be okay because I have a 10 foot table but I think they were just trying to make a quick sale because they didn't have the regular Gorina for a 10 foot table.

I run a dehumidifier and air conditioning in the summer and the winters it is even faster than the video. I live in northern Minnesota USA just 100 miles south of Canada so winters are extremely cold. Last year we hit 40 below zero several times.

You can read the difference here http://www.muellers.com/Gorina-A-Cloth,4337.html
Maybe it would help you see the difference. I played on a 10ft snooker table with Simonus Cloth and the speed was real slow. I feel calling Diamond would be you best bet. Sorry I am not more help

I like playing on blue cloth and the Gorina A cloth is an 18 oz which only comes in green. I have the 17 oz cloth which comes in blue also. http://www.muellers.com/Granito-M-Cloth,2014.html

I think what you have is Tournament 2000 by Gorina.
Yry the Basalt by the same company...it's fast but slower than what you have.
Gorina makes a very good cloth....I love Tournament 2000 personally.

I used to have a 7 foot valley table and the Gorina cloth that I had on that table was fast but not this fast. Maybe I'll call and see what cloth I purchased for my 7 footer and settle for somewhere in between.

I understand about the blue. My friends is green. I did not know the 18oz only came in green. Looks like you may have to go with Simons but I feel it will be a big difference from what you have.

Your cloth is way faster than my 760 Simonis cloth.

Any way, if the CB can travel more than 9 rails the cloth is too fast for the size of the table. {10 if it just barely reaches the 10-th rail}

Table

Gorina makes good cloth. The granito M is ultra fast/the fastest cloth gorina offers.
The A is quick but M is just silly fast, the granito "M" and "A" is a carom/billiard cloth and is priced at the top of the cloth they produce.
If you want to stay with gorina cloth the tournament 2000 is kinda like championship 30/30 which might be another choice for you, championship 30/30 is fast.

I suggest Simons 860HR,ANDY "pro" CLOTH,3030 or a slower blend gorina cloth. I sell all the cloths except gorina which if you decide to get to get it directly from muller, the are the exclusive importer for gorina.
PM me for pricing or questions.

Try turning the dehumidifier off for a day or two. It might not help much but I can tell a BIG difference when mine is shut off. As long as it doesn't get so humid that you are dragging your stick on your hand. Worth a try before you spend 300 bucks.

Thank you for the information, you sound like you know what you are talking about. I have a commercial account with Muller under my business. Muller does not carry Simons but it sounds like I have the fastest cloth Gorina makes. I probably just need to take a step down from what I have now and all will be good. It will probably be another couple of weeks before I order new cloth. I will continue to collect advise and if I decide to go with something other than Gorina I will be contacting you.

You may want to keep that type of cloth but switch to a 16x8 table:wink:.

Nice video, it shows your dilemma very well. Lots a good advice here, how bout another vid when you get the fix?
