Sarah, first off i'd like to start by saying its great to see yet another BCA junior champion graduate to the ranks of the pros.
Throughout the years I've noticed a somewhat strange trend regarding both female professional and amateur players. Very rarely have I seen any women engaged in competitive one pocket or bank play...for that matter even casual play of either of those games. I've heard rumors that Vivian Villareal is a relatively good one pocket player, but have not
Do you enjoy one pocket and/or banks and if not could you give me some insight as to why these great games don't have the support from the female players that 9-ball and league play 8-ball do. Keep in mind that I live in an area that is fairly saturated with both bank and one pocket play (kentucky/indiana/ohio), but have rarely seen female players engaged in one pocket play. Looking at the tournament results on azbilliards for the one pocket and divisions of the DCC for the last couple of years shows no real presence from the WPBA members.
Personally, i'd love to see a stronger showing from the WPBA. The WPBA members are truly ambassadors of the sport and the one pocket community would gain a lot of recognition as "another game" outside of the standard 9-ball/8-ball format that we've seen in tournaments year after year.
Not sure if you even enjoy one pocket or banks, but I'd love to hear your thoughts on it.
