I have a good Idea.. about a tool for pool players and cuemakers...

but I need input... what is the smallest shaft diameter at the Ferrule.. and what is the largest???

I'm thinking 10mm to 20mm will cover all possible sizes.. is there any significant demand for anything smaller or anything larger?

from snooker cue to carom cue

tell me what you know..

Well, I'd say that you don't need to go all the way to 20mm.
BCA equipment specs state that the largest tip diameter may not be larger than 14mm.
I don't recall if there is a minimum diameter but if there is it's either 9 or 10mm. I'll have to check my rule book for that.

Ferrule

Here is what the World Rules say:

17. Cue Sticks
Cue Sticks used at WPA competitions should comply with the following
during play at table:

Length of Cue: 40 inches [1.016 m] minimum / No Maximum
Weight of Cue: No minimum / 25 oz. [708.75 gm] maximum
Width of Tip: No minimum / 14mm maximum

The cue tip may not be of a material that can scratch or damage the addressed ball. The cue tip on any stick must be composed of a piece of specially processed leather or other fibrous or pliable material that extends the natural line of the shaft end of the cue and contacts the cue ball when the shot is executed..

The ferrule of the cue stick, if of a metal material, may not be more than 1 inch [2.54 cm] in length.

There are 9 mm diameter snooker shafts.
For snooker 10 mm is abit like the 12.75 for Pool.
I would think that if you covered 9 mm to 15 mm you would have it covered.
There are some exceptions,I ave heard of 8.5 mm snooker tips, but at I would think that size is rare.
