Ferrule Length

I've been out of the scene for about 10 years now and I've noticed the majority of cues I've seen have shorter ferrules now. Is this just a coincidence, or is there a reason?

Thank You

Most of your low deflection shafts have short (or no) ferrels...they've been all the rage for the past 10 years or so. Most stock shaft ferrels are about the same, although it seems those of us that play with stock shafts are becoming a minority!

Ferrule materials typically heavier than wood, and if you're after low deflection, it makes sense to go shorter.

Other than that, it's just a trend....
