I'm having a 30" shaft made, long conical taper, but still very gradual at 12.25mm. However, I really want to have some of the LD qualities I find in my production shafts, minus the "hollow" hit.
My thought process is:
If you can't tell, I'm trying to reduce the front end mass without sacrificing, or taking too much away from the wood. This theory relies on ferrules being substancial in weight, especially compared to wood.
So, I need some help finding a good ferrule material. To date I've owned IvorX and Aegis. Whatever the TigerX shafts use, that cannot get dirty, is awesome IMO, and they feel pretty good.
Am I talking crazy talk? somebody help me out...LOL
My thought process is:
- Short ferrule @ 0.5 inch, perhaps shorter (I have another shaft like this that I really like, but in IvorX that gets too dirty too fast).
- Wider ferrule bore/larger tenon
- Uncapped with carbon fiber pad
