Festool MFK 700 laminate trimmer. Any one tried it ?

I've never used that, but if it's made by Festool, I'm sure it's good. I have several of their other tools. They may cost at least twice as much as Dewalt, but as soon as you use one, you realize what garbage Dewalt is putting out.

I'd bet it's better than the Kress too as I'm not that impressed with that machine.

I've tried many Festool Products and it is hands down the best equipment of it's kind on earth.

The Kapex has features that no other chop saw has. There is also what is called a domino and it is simply one of those tools that the other guys wish they had perfected.

I believe the Festool plunge cut saw is one of the best things they have. It is around 800 but you can cut as clean and as straight as a table saw, but have the portability of a circular saw.

If you have the money, get the laminate trimmer. You won't be disappointed. As a matter of fact, it will be the last one you ever buy.

You mean it cuts better than a table saw. If I have large panels to cut, this saw always comes out. It is one of the best tools I own.

Looks close to same set up as a kress with the armature style, electronics, brushes, etc. Much different mounting style though.
How many Grant's we looking at for one like this?

I think you could get these for prox 500 bucks in your end.
However over here they rip you off with close to $700....

It's 750W and peaks out at 26K Rpm.

My usage would be tapering on the lathe so I can save my high end spindle on the CNC.

You can buy a whole lot of Dewalts that will get the job done for 700 clams.

Precision and quality cost money. You need precision for inlays, not just for turning wood. .001 of movement can certainly ruin an inlay. .001 of movement can't even be discerned on a turning. If this tool will run maintenance free long enough to pay for it's premium price or if it is quiet enough to be worth the great difference in cost, then, it is worth it. That is a personal decision. To spend that extra amount just for precision though, when it's only going to be used for a turning tool, is ludicrous in my opinion.

I've used several of the Festool routers, including the trim router, and they are very nice tools. They run somewhat quieter than others, and have less run-out as well. The dust collection is truly unsurpassed, but you really won't be able to take advantage of that if it's being used to turn things round. For turning things round I think the price is a little out of line, as there are many other options that will do the job at a fraction of the cost. If you work with laminates on a daily basis however, I think it might be worth the price. JMHO

Thanks for the feedbacks.
I was simply wondering if the tool was worth it's money since the price was
so much higher than the others I looked at.
I'm for sure not looking to shoot birds with a cannon but when I buy tools I
like to be able to use it for several tasks :-)

The other options I looked at was
