Drops - Scrap - Waste - Blemished
In your pursuit of perfection do any of you have something that simply didn't meet your expectation or a drop that you hated to throw out?
Let's say $100 or even more on something that may otherwise get scrapped or set aside for a project that may never happen.
If you have something in your lathe trays, drop boxes, or simply tossed aside; let's put it to use...
I want to make some nice joint protects... I have a lathe but my endeavors are limited to tips, ferrules, extensions, and some minor mods.
I have no real means of cutting inlays pockets or rings work nor do I have the expertise.
However, even in my limited capacity, I have several items I have scrapped because I wasn't happy, under sizes, etc...
My cue joints are small diameter at .835", so something undersized for a typical cue could be perfect for me.
I am not concerned about matching, just something nice for my cues.
I can finish / turn to size something myself, tap, or plug/re-tap for my 5/16x18...
