Filipina Bingkay Amit ousts Allison Fisher

:) It's real funny feeling!.....most of the naysayers about Amit's 'luck' here claimed to be Filipinos...tsk, tsk, tsk...scent of yen and georgie wash. really turned some people's cerebrum..... :)
Now, now...you're getting out f line. I don't seem to find any post here saying anything about Bingkay's "luck". Can you please explain your post.

Actually Rubilen said she did indeed get quite lucky to beat Allison in their match.

She did get a few good rolls and Allison did miss a critical shot at 3:3. But Rubilen also played solid and earned the rolls she got.

Agree and you can also change the names in your above statement for any other tournament. These players, of either gender, has the abilities to win that a little luck figuring in can help to overcome the other. Its just the nature of the game.

Although I don't think Rubilen "got it" when I said that "I got lucky" is the Phillipine Pool Players national motto.

:-)
LOL! That "I got lucky" slogan could have been credited to any pool player but was credited to Efren moreso because of his humility. Filipinos are lucky to have such a champion and thus, as you've stated, the slogan in now considered as a Philippine Pool Players national motto.

Here's a couple of pix of Rubilen when we were at the Tokyo 9-Ball in Shirahama.

Rubilen got "lucky" again as she scraped passed Hamanishi of Japan, winning 9
games to 6. She's our first finalist and I hope her rabbit's foot holds up till
the final game is played...

Ah, I own that photo that you just posted as I took that during Rubilen's match against Pei Wei Chang at the Tokyo 9-Ball. But....I'm giving you permission at this time.:)

Rubilen sure got lucky dropping all those champions! Nice kick on the 4 by the way!;)

She has gained some weight since then and is looking a lot better. I like her attitude when she misses a crucial shot. She just shakes her head and takes it quietly. Pan Xiao Ting may be the favourite right now but I would not count out the Filipina yet. She has nothing to lose and everything to gain. Win or lose she has truly made a name for herself already. Good luck Ms. Amit.

Shades of Efren, maybe?

Bandido, nice pic of Rubilen you got there! Can you post some more?
And here's a picture of Amit and the rest of the Filipino women players that
I found:

If you've got the power floor it....that is if you can handle it.
