Filming at tournaments

Can anyone explain why at, some big tournaments, personal video taping is not allowed. I am not talking about tournaments where professional taping is done to sell. If a tournament operator is trying to make some money by taping and selling it makes sense to not have free copies floating around. But, at tournament where no taping is done for profit how does it hurt anyone to not let people bring in their own cameras to make a record of some matches for themselves. Some of these personal videos end up on utube for many to share.
I don't want to pick on any one tournament because I have seen this at several tournaments. I feel this is very selfish to deny many the opportunity to share in viewing a tournament that they could not attend for any reason. I don't think that attendance would be reduced signifcantly because somene said he would not pay to attend because he knew a video would be available. I enjoy attending live tournments if possible. If a tournamnet is too far away then I appreciate viewing a good match online or dvd.

I agree with you. I like to see something that I otherwise will never have a chance to see via a DVD or something.
