Rob Saez had to forfeit his first match of the tournament (great story...just ask him!) and turned it on all weekend to fight his way back into the final match. With a battle back and forth between Rob and Mark and Rob on the hill, Rob scratched on a crucial 10-ball that would have sealed the deal. Now sitting 8-8, Rob had a chance to knock home a 2-10 combo for the win. As luck would have it, his missed opportunity rolled right back into place for Mark to take advantage. Mark's 2-10 combo gave him the title.

Another solid event in the books... We look forward to seeing you players and fans down in Hollywood next month for the Steve Mizerak Championships. No 2007 tournament participation necessary. To register, please contact Brenna Mello at 954-364-5201 ext. 4 or BrennaMello@semtribe.com

Have a great night! Kevin

That was an exciting come back. How many matches was it Saez had to win back to back to the final?

Just got back from some iHop with Saez and some friends.... Rob played great. He had Tony something like 7-4, and Tony starts getting some steam, wins some games, breaks and runs to make it hill-hill and in the last game Tony breaks and makes the 1 but has no shot on the 2, so he plays a safe... Rob jumps in the two and gets semi-hooked behind the 7 on the 3, he spins the 3 in and fires in a tough shot on the 4 - from there the game is easy.

As for the game where Rob made the 10 and scratched, he looked like he hit the ball perfect to not scratch (using outside) but that rail reacted funny and the ball came almost straight off of it.... Funny how things can be so drastically different with a half-inch difference in this game.

Never seen the other guy but he played pretty good... Congrats to Rob and Tony.
God bless the Seminole tribe for this tour!

Local player Jerry Calderon sure showed some heart this weekend beating Tony Crosby double hill, winning over Corey Deuel double hill and finally losing to Saez 8-6.

To answer a question from above....Rob caught a bye on the 1-loss side, and then went on to win 9 straight matches to get the Finals. Those 9 matches had a combined score of 68-30. He played lights out for the most part...

Thanks for the updates Kevin.

Now when are we going to hear some bonafide news about the Seminole Pro Tour expanding into some other areas. ARe we there yet?

How about a Pensacola tournament? You could draw from Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Georgia for sure. It could easily be the biggest tournament of the Seminole Pro Tour.

Best regards,
JoeyA

Now, you're starting to sound like some of those old school pool players who don't want to share any of their pool knowledge. :D

Expanding the tournaments with neighbors close and far away is smart business.
