Final thoughts about the 10 Ball Derby Ring Game...
This was a reply to a pm I just got, a nice AZ'er said I had balls to go out there and play in it, and yes it took some, but not what people think. A man has to test himself to grow, Now that i'm older I believe in myself more and since I have more life experience it wasnt all that hard, about what I expected. If I was 18 years old then yeah it would have been hard, but because I have been in tight spots over the years this was just a great experience, i cant wait for the next one. This is my last post about it, but after a few days of thinking about it and reflecting on it I wanted to share what I geot out of it, here was my reply:
"the ring game was fun, i wasnt nervious, no butterflys, i wasnt tight, but.....i didnt have a shot to speak of so I wasnt put to the test the whole way, all I saw was the table, balls, pockets, rails and the slate bed nothing else(no stage audience cameras etc.). I was talking a bit to Shane between shots, after I sold out to him scratching on the backwards cut on the 6 and he then won 3 in a row and then when he sat next to me that I asked for my cut, we laughed. It was fun. I was so happy that I didnt fold up and dog it, i wanted a shot at the 10 ball to test myself the whole way to really see what I was made of and I honestly believe I would have been fine, what a relief, I didnt have any jitters and would have been fine, I'm 99% sure of that, i'm gonna do it again next year and expect to win a rack or 2. It was my biggest test yet in pool not life."
I'm done talking about this ring game but man I did it and am proud of what I did so I thinbk shareing it with others who arnt champions is a cool thing to do, but I dont want to beat a dead horse, so till next year I wont mention it again. I did grow stronger because of it, I can feel it in the gut and it will pay for it self over the next year.
