In the Chicago area alone, I can probably think of half a dozen bars, taverns, etc... that have beautiful diamond tables. However, it is generally very difficult to find these places through traditional means (yellow pages, google, etc...). Just a couple weeks ago, I walked into a bar on the NW side that had just purchased and installed a brand new 9' Diamond; I had absolutely no idea. It got me thinking...how many other places like this are there?
I know that the go-play pool app was meant to solve this problem, but my luck with it has not been good. Most times, I find places that are closed.
So, how difficult would it be for Diamond Billiards to have a "Find a Diamond Near You" link on their website? From that link you could enter your zip code and it could return the names of all commercial establishments that have purchased a Diamond table within a certain radius of your location. Furthermore, it could tell you how many tables that establishment has along with size and model.
I think a feature like this would be very easy to maintain - every time a Diamond is sold, the buyer would be allowed to submit his particulars and opt into the database. It would be beneficial to the buyers as essentially free advertisement. And it would be beneficial to players by making it very easy to find bars & taverns near you that promote serious pool.
Something that the good folks at Diamond might want to ponder.
