Finish on carbon fiber shafts.

You can wet sand or use polishing compound depending on scuff.

You are best to develop a technique where you do not touch the shaft at all. Leaving the tip one or two thou over sized is better than scuffing the surface of the carbon shaft. If you wrap the shaft with teflon tape, then remove the old tip, glue and replace the tip, the tightly wraped teflon tape will stop any glue from getting onto the shaft. From there, there should be no need to touch the shaft with any cutting tools at all and definitely not with any sanding products or abrasive products.

What you said is true ,but I would still like to know if you could touch up and make shaft look original. Thanks for the reply.

I can't comment as I don't have any reference to the shaft you mention. A close up picture showing the surface finish will allow an assessment of how it was most likely finished. Otherwise it is only speculative .

How do most of you touch up finish like when you replace tip and barely scuff shaft?
C/f shafts can be real tricky and unfortunately from what I've seen. The finish on each offered by assorted Cue makers / Companies is different. So far, I like the finish on Revo the best. Wet sanded and buffed out some scratches pretty easy.
Someone sent me a blank to build from SOMEWHERE, I don't know where. The paint on it was so bad, I stripped it completely. Nasty stuff to breathe. Always use caution.

Thank you Michael.
