Finish question

i tried out a cue from another player at my pool hall
it had a linen wrap BUT
it felt like a wrapless cue
what i mean is you couldnt feel a seam at the juction of the wrap and butt or handle
its as if the the finsh was one piece from joint to bumper
you would never know what material was in the grip section of the cue
what kind of finish is that??
is that normal???

Finish over the wrap. Meucci has been doing that forever.

wrap

may have been sanded,pressed,and ironed.i have seen where some will put a sealer on the linen also.
