A beautiful Bolivian rosewood / ebony handle cue I made this week. Purple Heart and maple for the rings.

I sure do love letting the wood do the talking. I love the streaks of blonde that show through the ebony.

I like purple heart for an under wrap or ebony with or without a wrap. It gives you a natural weight to the cue without having to add a lot of additional weight with a bolt or threaded rod. It will generally fall to around 19 Oz naturally. When I was building cues I always use purple heart for the underwrap wood on wrapped cues.

I never liked using maple. I got to say I did a lot of rewraps on some pretty high end cues and when you get the wrap off you find a crappiest looking piece of maple you ever saw. I guess they don't care cuz who's going to see it.
