Finishing lathe questions?

I would like a basic lathe all I need is a motor to spin around 300-500 rpm and have an adjustable bed for finishing only no tooling needed. Anybody got any ideas ? I am trying to free up my good lathe so I can work while I am finishing

How can I make it variable speed and reversible

Penn state motor is variable speed and you can rig up a reverse switch to it. Get a taig headstock and tailstock and maybe some 80/20 and it will probably be under 300
