This is Event #2 folks. January 26th

Our first tournament had 50 Players. The Calcutta was over at 1230 and Players got to the money line around 830 PM. We all left the building by 1230 PM. This is a bit longer than I would normally anticipate. We ran into some slow play which I will correct at the next event. We paid down 12 spots for the tournament and 8 spots on the Calcutta. Winner left with close to $600. Not bad for a one day event.

This is an AMATEUR ONLY event. If you traditionally pay the Pro level fee in any of the tours (Action, Planet Pool, etc) or if you have played in the Black Friday Event and had to pay the Pro fee then, for the purposes of this tournament series, you are a Pro. We will be be looking forward to inviting you back for our GOOD FRIDAY tournament in the Spring (Hopefully some of us have caught up by then)

The Game: 9-Ball
The Race: 7 - 5 (Adjusted if nessisary to keep to one day event)
Alternate Break
Rack Your Own back two dont count
Calcutta: Yes
Practice: 10 AM
Calcutta: 11:30
Draw and Start: Immediatley after tournament

All Monies collected for the series end event will go towards the Finley's Cup Event tournament. The top 16 players will gain free entry into the Finley's Cup tournament and be granted a 1st Round Bye. Any other registrants will have to pay $30 and play through the event without the benefit of that Bye.

Ive ordered the Points Trophy

Ive ordered a very nice Crystal points trophy that will be awarded to the person show has accumulated the highest point total at the end of the 4 tournaments. This trophy is not the standard league trophy that is a pretty much a piece of plastic painted yellow. It is along the lines of the trophies they hand out at the US OPEN. This trophy will be fully funded by sponsors to the event. not your entry fees.

The trophy will be presented at the beginning of the FINLEYS CUP FINAL TOURNAMENT which of course means that we will not be accumulating points in that final event.

Question

What do you guys think about cutting table 7 our of the tournament and making it a mandatory $5 or $10 "king of the hill" table? I would run the first two winner side and the frist two rounds of the loser side before i converted this to the MONEY TABLE. I dont think this would significantly increase the time of the tournament and it would give folks who get knocked out a chance to get some of their money back.

update

Little more than two weeks away for our next bash in good ole York County. Looking forward to seeing everyone there again and hopefully we dont get snow this time :)

Let me know if you are going at this facebook page. This will give you the latest information as I tend to update facebook a bit more frequently than AZ.

This time next Saturday...

....we will be down to the final 12... All players left will be in the money and, given last months turn out, one of those 12 amateurs will be leaving around 1130 pm with more than $500.

Not too bad for an amateur only tournament that starts at 1130 AM.

Bring your cash boys.

Results

Had a GREAT turnout of 35 players from all over Sound Central PA and Northen MD. Shawn Toni lost to Joe Stem in a marthon 9-ball race to 7 that took 1:45 min. It was a fierce HILL HILL battle that Joe Stem came out on top of after making an insane full table bank to get position on the 8 ball. This after Shawn missed the 7 trying to go three rails to get on the 8.

Shawn, however got his revenge winning HILL HILL on the One loss side in a match the went back and forth between two great players.

Shawn Faced Loye in the winner side finals race to 7 and jumped out to a 5 - 1 lead, but Loye caught a gear and and stormed back to 6 - 5 with Shawn on top. But Loye broke dry and the ever consitent Shawn Toni closed out the match to take it to a second set. the second set was back and forth with Shawn winning 5 - 3 to take first place AGAIN. Congratulation Shawn Toni for being a REPEAT winner of the Finley's Cup 9-Ball Series.
