First comp --- any advice??

Well firstly let me say thank you to everyone for there great advice. :)

Just got back home from the comp and as i predicted i went out first round. When i was having a practice before my match i felt fine, seemed to be cueing pretty well but the tables took a lot of getting used to as the were very fast. As soon as i had to play my match i got really nervous, i was 0-3 down before i got settled. Managed to get it back to 3-3 with a couple of nice run-outs,then it went to 3-4 and then 3-5 after i missed a simple 9 after running the rest of the rack, then 4-5 and then 4-6 which took him to the hill. I had the 8 and 9 left to make it 5-6 and this is what happened:

START(
%Hm0D1%IC9W7%PJ4D0%Wk3D3%XJ9C9%Ys7D0%Zm1D1%]D1C7%^l2D2%eB5b8

)END

The cue ball just didn't seem to want to stop rolling, obviously he made the 9 to take the match 4-7. Overall i'm not to disapointed with the way a played, like i said the tables were so much faster than what i'm used to and the guy i played plays on them everyday. I think i'f i'd have played him all day i might have come out on top, but as i now know, in touraments you've got to play well from the very first ball.

Sure ...

Lol, that made me laugh. :)

Thanks for the advice guys. I'm not trying not to take it to seriously, i'm using it as a chance to just get to play some good players more than anything. I doubt i'll make it in the money but i'll let you guys know how i get on and i'll try and get some pics too.

Anyone got any advice on how to settle down and not get to nervous??? (apart from a couple of beers of course! :) )

Just match for a $1,000 set, lose it, then your nerves will be shot,
and the tournament will be a snap then .... lol
