First cue

Hello everyone,
I want to buy my first billiard cue, and I don't know what to choose. I'm from Poland where is another currency, but I counted that I can spend for it about 90$. I found some cues and want to ask which is the best:
McDermott Lucky L12 with kamui black tip (+about 20$(counted))
K.F Cues Produce 2380
McDermott LUCKY L21
PLAYERS C-960
Fury Silver Star FSS-3
Collapsar C3

McDermott Lucky series are good cues. A McDermott L23 was my first cue, and I can recomand them. Best choise for the money, in Romania you can buy one for 50-65 $.
 
My first cue was a Fury. I was thinking between the one I got and one priced similar to the one you mentioned. For a first cue it is definitely good and I was satisfied. Not nearly as good as my Poison AR5, but putting on a Kamui Black M tip really extended its life. It's really not a bad cue and for me has huge sendimental value :)... Mc Dermott should be pretty good too.

McDermott will have the most 'consistent' feel of all of those, in my opinion. Followed by maybe Players, then Fury (although it's a bit of a toss-up between those two),

But I would say, go to a local billiards store and try out demos, if you can. Otherwise, if that is not an option (and it probably isn't), go to a local pool hall and make friends and ask to hit a few balls with their cues...

When it comes to a first cue, you don't have much experience to draw on when selecting the sorts of things you want in one (weight, overall balance, tip diameter, how stiff a shaft taper, how hard a hit, joint pin or materials, tip preference, wrapped or wrapless, etc.) -- and each production cue company is going to feel a little different from the others based on various factors...

What do you play with now? A house cue? And if so, what do you / don't you like about it?

Just get your hands on as many between now and purchase time, and pick up whatever feels the best?
Just don't buy anything too expensive and, in my most honest opinion, looks matters greatly in a first cue too lol... no foolin'.... :)

Mcdermott all the way it was my first few cues they hit great and hold together great when u get few more bucks slap a ob on it :thumbup:
