Just received it today, I have posted about using the Sandman shaper tool and how well it works so when Bulletproof Billiards came out with a tool of their own I was intrigued but I mistakenly thought they were similar in design so I didn't get one right away, they are very different, the Sandman shaper is super aggressive but if you use it lightly it will really rough up the tip so it holds chalk well, the Recoil tip tool has 2 sides 1 is more aggressive but not quite as much as the Sandman, the other side has a unique pattern that is hard to describe but their website has great pictures of it, I chose to try this one first, my tip was not totally slick, the tool did not rough up the tip as much as the Sandman but to my surprise the tip held chalk better for longer, so far happy with the results, this is a very well made tool, both scuffer sides are Stainless steel attached to an aluminum body, there are 3 radius guages and 3 different radius shapers, after taking the tool out of the package the 1st thing I noticed is how sharp these scuffers are, they weren't as deep as the Sandman shaper but they are every bit as sharp, maybe even sharper, I was happy I had a little zippered case to put it in before putting in my case, played for about an hour and a half and I think it is holding chalk even better than with Sandman shaper, I'm really glad I made this purchase, I know they designed this for their Recoil tip but I bet it would work great on leather tips as well, it's only day one, I'll do another one in a month.

Awesome! Appreciate the review, as I have been thinking about getting one. Have just been using the tip pick on a bowite tool occasionally for my recoil hard. Quick question... since both scuffer sides are flat... how exactly are you using it? Do you just kind of roll it over, or are you dragging it across the tip? I didn't see an explanation on the site. TIA!

It seems more like a review of sandman tip tool. All I read is sandman sandman
I am dragging it across the tip using only light pressure, the "teeth" are very sharp but not as deep as the Sandman, it surprised me that the tip held chalk better with the Recoil tool, I haven't even used the aggressive side yet, it removes only dust off the tip you can't even measure and even though I clean my tip with a dry cloth before dressing it, the Recoil tip tool seems to remove any remaining chalk better, I love the Recoil hard tip and I like the tip tool so far, I will post again after using the more aggressive side.

All I know is I have been using the Sandman shaper for about 5 months the same way and the tip still looks like new, so little wear it's not worth talking about, I used the less aggressive side of the Recoil tip tool last night, just got done practicing for about an hour and my tip is holding chalk better than ever before, and I am chalking even less than before, I have a Willard shaper, Tiger tip tool, Tip Pik tool, a tapper tool, and several others, I'm not scared to try a tool that I think might help me, most people don't think anything of losing $30 in a game of pool so to me trying the Recoil tip tool was a no brainer, I like this tool even more than yesterday, I didn't have to dress my tip at all tonight and I didn't have to chalk as often, hopefully Bulletproof Billiards will chime in on this thread.

I was using a Mezz tool previously. But I bought this little cube tool from Taobao for pennies recently. Has 3 curved surfaces, two sanding surfaces and a spiked tapper. Attach it to the outside of my bag. Works great. Will post a photo up if I remember later.

Looks just like this, but the keychain hole is a little bigger, and it's on a keychain/clip that looks a bit like a motel room door keyring.
Nice tool that gives you 6 different ways to dress your tip!
