First time on a 7 footer

You'll be fine, especially on those long straight shots which arent so long anymore! I grew up with a 7 foot bar box in my basement and it was a lot harder to move to an 8 or 9 foot than to go the opposite direction.
 
the way i think about it is that because its so easy to pocket balls on a 7 footer, you can really put most of your focus and concentration into where the cue ball is going. cb control tends to be a more delicate situation on a bar-box, but because its hard to miss the ball, you can really compensate with your focus. pattern play is a bit different as well. youre pretty much supposed to cinch everything and take a bit of a tougher shot with a few exceptions. dont hook yourself would be rule #1. also, play shape for the corners much more often than you would on a 9 footer
