Fisher table

I saw in another post Ironman mention tight Fisher tables. I have never seen a fisher table anywhere but in my basement. My dad bought it from a bar closing in 76-77. I was 13 then. I went off to the navy at 19 and my older sister took the table. It was given back to me last November. It started my current addiction to the game. I do have the original balls and big cue ball but do not use them. I did treat it to new rubber and cloth.

I said all this because no one I have talked to in league has ever heard of one. The guy that covered it had never seen one.

The Elks Lodge in Oklahoma City has two of them. They're covered in what looks to be a thermal blanket and I think the cue ball used to have 3 holes in the top. The ones here are 4x8's. The pockets aren't particularly tight but the rails are dead as Abe Lincoln. I hate playing league there. It looks to be a nice vintage table if they would put a little restoration into it.

I'm not entirely sure, but I think Hot Shots Billiards in Beaverton, OR, has 12 of them as their standard 9 foot tables. They play OK, but the shelf (particularly the corner pockets) seems way less forgiving then a Brunswick GC. Still, definitely a well made table.

I own a 1971 Fischer 8 footer with 860 simonis and i can tell you this table plays tight, with 4 inch pockets and 2.75 inch points along with very stingy side pockets this table definantly keeps you honest

Mine is a 3 1/2 x 7 with deep shelves and the angle cut of the pockets make it tough to fire a ball in if your going to hit the face of one at all. its a one piece slate and looked like cows had given birth on it when I got it back. I covered it myself in Feb. with slow fuzzy cloth. I have had simonis put on it since.
