Fits with Predator Air-Jump

Just bought Predator Blak 2, BK 2, and Air-Jump. Very satisfied with all but the jump cue. I mostly play 1P, but not a lot of 1P players where I am stationed here in Kuwait. So I have to play more 8 and 9 ball than I normally would. I can jump and make most balls with my little bungee jumper, but this predator is giving me fits, especially in the 5.5 ounce mode. I know it's the user, I just didn't realize there would be such huge difference. Anyone else having the same problem? little bubba

I have personally found it easier to jump with than any other cue that I tried. Getting used to the weight took a bit of time but now that I am used to it, I have little trouble. Hopefully you will adjust.

Stay safe in Kuwait!

I love my predator air.

I didnt use my old jumper very often. I think once you get the feel of it, you'll be lights out with it.

I know a lot of folks really like the Pred Air jump cue, but I ended up selling mine. I do better with a larger and flatter tip. Also, I thought the shaft was too flexible to consistently get a nice crisp pop and if you hit the cue ball just a hair off center axis, the cue ball can really spin off line when it lands.

Thanks for the replies. I practiced some last night and what I found out was that you can't jack up as high as you would with say my old bungee jumper. I brought the butt down to where it almost seems there is no way it will clear the attempted jumped balls, but it will. I guess I was trying to hard. Thanks again!

Hate to say this, but showing him the change in elevation just means he beat me like a drum again...

I'd recommend using all 3 pieces for nearly all kinds of jumps and the 2 pieces only for really short distance. That did it for me :D

I assume the 5.5 ounce mode is with the last short extension removed?
If that is the case, you need to use the Predator Air in this mode using the DART STROKE.

When using the Dart STroke, one of the secret lies within where you hold your top hand. If you hold your hand close to the top, you will have mixed results for sure. You should be able to easily jump over a ball when the cue is one ball's width away from the object ball. Success is possible even as close a chalk's distance.....

Also, Place you head/eye in alignment with the shaft and place your top hand in different positions until you can get the shaft going straight up and down. It is MOSTLY WRIST ACTION. If your forearm is moving a great deal you will get a wobbly stroke and hit the cue ball poorly.

BTW, the dart stroke is to be used primarily when the cue ball is in close proximity to an object ball or when the cue ball only needs to travel short distances after jumping over an impeding object ball.

Thanks JoeyA (and others who have replied), I will try the dart method in the 5.5 ounce mode. Jumping a chalks width from the attempted jumped ball! Didn't think that was possible, but I beleive you and I will try what you have recommended. Back when I played a lot of 8 and 9 ball there no jump cues. I bought one 4 or 5 years ago and got pretty good with it just playin around at home. Once I learned 1P, don't play much of anything else but maybe straight pool or bank pool. At my current location, 8 and 9 ball are all thats played except for the guys I have tought the other games to. Thats the only reason I purchased a jump cue.

Question though for anyone that plays 1P and straight pool- Do any of you players EVER use your jump cues in these two games and if so, what percentage? The reason I ask is because I do on rare occasion.

Thanks little bubba

When I pull out the jump cue in one pocket the sound I hear from my opponent can only be compared to caterwauling. :D
