Fitting Pocket Castings on GC-V

It has been mentioned that the pocket castings on the Gold Crown V require hand fitting, maybe with the use of a wood chisel. Any chance we can get some details on that? I may wind up putting mine together myself (I hope not, though), and would like to know what is required beforehand - I hate surprises.

Howard I can come down after the 20 this month no more working 7 days and the leads come back on the 20th. Strange things happened this month from stupid to wierd and a few babies and a few deaths we all had to cover for the guys that needed real time off. Most just started coming back to work yesterday and 1 more today.

You're pretty much guaranteed to need to do some woodwork,unless you want to do some cue repairs from shooting over the pockets.
A wood chisel is the easiest way, but if you've got Craig coming down there soon, that's even easier...

when doing this procedure a chisel is easy to use, just go slow. Also, color the rest of the top where you are sanding so you can see when your clearing off that particular area. Last set of rails I had did NOT require this operation so it seems Brunswick has resolved the issue. Actually putting together a GC V is a piece of cake and I rate it at 1 staple, If you can get some levels I would suggest setting it up yourself. Its not that hard.
