Fixable? Issue in joint

So I have a sledgehammer jump break. I had it for probably 3 months or less and I noticed that it does not roll straight. It was depressing since i got rid of a different j/b that I liked for this type of cue. I stopped playing and didnt think nothing of it. Now after 1.5 years I am back playing and wondering about this cue.

The shaft rolls straight.
The butt rolls straight.
Put them together and the tip will be lifted off the felt.

I am not sure what the problem is or what caused it. I never use it for breaking anymore, but will still use it to jump with if needed (rarely). The cue is obviously way past any type of warranty issues, so my questions would be:

1. Does it sound like the issue is in the joint? If so, is it common?
2. Would the issue be fixable, or should I look to get a different j/b?

Hope to hear some ideas. Thanks.

Maybe the shaft or the butt needs refacing.
Sometimes wood swells in that area.
Unless the pin is crooked or off.

joint repair

Good afternoon,
If the shaft and butt roll straight separately and when put together doesn't roll straight then the joint face of each piece needs to be checked for proper alignment. Sometimes chalk dust or finger grease will load up on the joint face causing a misalignment. Cleaning the joint faces or even refacing them may be necessary. Any cue repair person should be able to handle this repair.

Thanks for the input. I will have a cue guy look at it at the next tourney I go to.

Is refacing something intensive that takes alot of time? In other words would they need to take the cue for a day or longer? Estimated costs?

Its something most cue guys could do while you wait(Refacing) or pick up a short time later......Dave
