Floor covering for basement

Carpet, sheetrock and insulation make the space more comfortable and MUCH quieter, as well as giving a better acoustic environment for music.
If more than 1 wall is below grade you would be wise to run a dehumidifier year round. Especially when you get a good rain or outdoor humidity is high.

Also carpet tiles, berber, or very low pile protects your pool balls. Concrete floor is very hazardous to a 300+ dollar set of nice Centennials.

Looks kind of dark in pics, but it's not. I have Berber carpet in the rec/game areas, regular carpet in cave/family room and bedroom with vinyl in bath. It's been twelve years but I have no moisture problems

Hi,

Looking for some ideas for a basement floor in my new (to me) house. I have a walkout basement that if I want to avoid messing with repositioning the outer doors has a hard limit of 2” exactly for the entire flooring system I could install. Complicating things even further, there is a wood stove in one corner...

Looking for some options?

Thanks
LVP flooring. Installs fast (pay someone unless it's a huge budget concern. Get references.) Many styles and it's approved for below grade use. Put slate under the stove or use a fireboard.

I had Home Depot install Toasted Bamboo, beautiful golden brown and harder than Oak, in my basement.
