Florida Pro Tour

It's called "The Seminole Florida Pro 10-Ball Tour" now if I'm not mistaken.

John does run it now with help from a few others. Dennis Searing was Johns partner in running it a few yrs back.. I started playing the tour when Rhen Hoffman (Bonnie's sister) ran it in the 80's and it was "Southern Billiard Promotions Pro 9-Ball Tour" - I still have a 2x4 case that has that on it that came with my 2nd prize $ at one tournament.

O.B. Osceola Sr. is a nice guy and tribe members are regular attendees at most tournaments.

:)

The Florida Tour was created by Corrine Hoffman and she ran it successfully for years. For a while after Corrine walked away <a year at the most> it was ran into the ground by this crackhead named Ernie. Paul Johnson of Kiss Shot in Jupiter, Joe Penna of SharpShooters in Miami, John DiToro and Dennis Searing took it over after the almost demise and turned it into a powerhouse. The Seminole Tibe took it over the top making it one of if not the toughest tour in the country...ok, I'm done:D

I don't know why I called her Rhen....not enough coffee yesterday and that was quite a few brain cells ago :) (It was Southern Billiard Promotions around then though). It died for a year after Dennis left also. It is the toughest regional tour there is without a doubt (The same as the SEC in college football).

:D

(an old case)

Mini Tournaments going down tonite. Players seen in the room tonite included Stevie Moore, Will Bilbrey, John Ditoro, David Grossman and Tommy Kennedy.

The tables at Bird Bowl are Gandys and they have two 9ft GC2s up front by the desk. The GCs play good and are tighter than the Gandys which have cavernous bucket pockets. If the tables break well, there is going to be some serious rack running tommorrow. There also could be a good chance you will see some upsets as well.

Ill post tommorrow in the evening with some updates.

The field today included
Stevie Moore
Corey Duel
Will Bilbrey
Troy Frank
David Grossman
Butch Croft
Tommy Kennedy
Tony Chohan
Rob Saez
Tony Crosby
Ronnie Wiseman
Richard Broumpton
Jason Klatt
Glenn Atwell
Richie Orem
James Ladeira
Neil Fujiwara
Trevor Braymore
John Foster
Randy Epperson

I had entertained the thought of trying to put up the entire bracket, but after going two and out (lost to Glenn Atwell first round 7-5 and then Jason Klatt in the losers bracket 7-2) I am now at home playing with my sons and getting ready to take my wife out. I will see if I can drive by on Sunday and get some updates.

First round Wiseman had a bad draw with Saez. RW lost that one.

Forgot that Vivian Villareal and Chris Bartrum are also there. Vivian lost in the 2nd round to South Florida's John Foster. Bartrum just got beat in a 2nd round match by Stevie Moore. Others still on the winners side to the third round (16 left on winners) include James Ladeira, TK, Saez, Chohan, Grossman, Tony Crosby (who beat Troy Frank first round).

Her name was Corinne Hoffman and she passed away a couple of years ago. She started running the Florida Tour in the late 80' early 90's. The first professional tournaments were held 3 times a year from 1980-1988 at the Golden Cue in Melbourne.

How soon they forget, Paul Johnson and Joe Penna were running the Florida Pro Tour and their company was Southern Billiard Promotions and yes Dennis Searing was also involved. Paul was my mentor for the ladies billiard association of florida a.k.a. the mali ladies florida tour...he was a very smart man, he probably ran 10 events per year for many years until he retired. And we didn't have to wait for april or may for the first men's event per year...

Damn Dave,
Our states pro-tour events are STACKED.. I shoulda gone to this one. I didn't get to see enough at Victory

Thanks for the info Tony.

Maybe in the future you can put up some brackets for the FPT on your site.

Any idea where you guys will be playing the Championships?

Capone's? Stroker's? or maybe Danny's new place?

Dave Ross says he is going to be there and beat all you guys.

Just got a call from a buddy at the room.

Its down to 6 players.
On the winners side you have Will Bilbrey v Tony Chohan and Stevie Moore vs. Corey Duel.

The losers side is down to Ronnie Wiseman and the winner of James Laderia and Richie Orem. James was winning big in the Orem match and it was looking like it would be James and Wiseman waiting for the losers of the two winners side matches.

Duel apparently is taking full advantage of rack your own and is soft breaking the one into the side with position on the 2. Alot of times there is a small cluster in the middle and Duel just nudges things and runs out.

Gotta give kudos to Wiseman for losing his first match to Saez and grinding it out on the left side.

I am going to try to get out later for the finals. updates later..

Moore beat Duel
Bilbrey beat Chohan

now going to be

Laderia vs Duel
Wiseman vs Chohan in the losers

Moore and Bilbrey to play for hotseat

Hey uwate, the Torres that's playing, wouldn't happen to be Jorge Torres, that used to film the Florida Men's Tour and put the matches up on his website for all to see ? I think it was www. trickshooter .com
A number of us have been searching for him for a few years, now.
