flow chart for Turning Stone?

I can be wrong, but I think the loophole that allowed them to open this casino in the first place was that NYS allowed table games in charity situations. They are likely subject to a finite list of acceptable offerings. This wouldn't be on any such list.

State doesn't run/monitor Indian casinos. That's all done at the Federal/IndianGamingReg.Act level. No charity stuff in the casinos. There's probably reg's that don't allow something like a calcutta.

If you aren't from NY, trust me, you can't wipe your ass without the state government involved. Plus, I did an internship for a state legislator in the years before Turning Stone opened. The Indian chief even visited the office. NY was very involved in trying to stop it.

I should have more clear. Old school stuff like bingo, pull-tabs, all Class2 stuff is tribe only. Class3 like poker, slots, etc. is a state/tribe pact. We do the same deal here in Oklahoma. My point earlier was that there has to be a reg. not allowing a pool tournament calcutta. Must be some room there for 'fuckery' that the casino doesn't want to fade.

They don't post early to prevent calcuttas/player auctions from happening.

Which is reason 214 why pool goes nowhere.

Why not promote this in any way possible?
Knowing who is playing is the main reason people tune in.

I used to run an event the Wednesday evening prior to this with 2 pros. Free exhibition and livestreamed to the world for free. You'd think I'd stolen the promoters baby bottle the way he reacted.
It's called promotion....something alot of promoters have no knowledge of.

If the right people get 10% of calcutta they happen with great regularity.

Nobody is laying down over a $8500 payday.
