flying with case

Jay, I've seen those types of cases at last yrs sbe, but wouldnt it be dangerous if you have a softcase? I can just imagine my case being harpooned around the place.

Saw a post a while ago about people carrying cues on te airplane as a carry on. A lot of people replied that it wasn't true.
At the airport right now waiting to board plane. Saw someone walk across me with cue case. I walked over talked to him. Had the cue inside. He said it was fine.
Hes flying AA. They must have changed policies recently?

that would be amazing if they did infact change the rules.

Pack your cues and case inside your luggage, I went out last year and bought a big enough roller luggage bag so I could fit a 32 inch cue case inside . I have no problems at all....I heard to many horror stories.....< ED

That's what I do. I don't care about the chalk and the tip tools, I want the cues safe!

Modified Pelican 1700 Gun Case. Airtight, Watertight, Dustproof, Crushproof Protection for your cues.

Took me about an hour to customize the foam but it turned out perfect.. they don't move at all inside the case.

This thing is HEAVY DUTY. I'm certain I could run over it with a car without a problem. Great rubber seal for waterproof protection and holds up to 4 large padlocks. Weighs close to 20 pounds.

I've had Zero Halliburtons before and they are awesome but they scratch up and dent so dang easily... this case is waaay tougher all around.

Joe has a real nise travel case to put your cue case in, its made of a nylon like material and has two zippers that can be locked closed. If you buy a airline lock that can be opened by a master airline key you can put it under the plane with out much concern of getting ripped and the additionl padding will protect you case.

I havent tried taking a case on a plane in my luggage yet, but I keep hearing that it works, not sure???

I have now played the game in 25 countries and have always played with custom cues for example black boar, tascarella or tad. Needless to say I am constantly parinoid about the condition my cues will appear at the other end of the tarmac.

For example, on a one occasion I sent my fellini case through the luggage without any protection thinking that the handlers would take care of it . BIG MISTAKE. When I got to the other side they had ripped the leather. Luckily I had taped the lid to stop the cues falling out. It didn't do the leather any good but it saved the cues!

So now I use a soft travel case and place my case inside it with my clothing such as jeans and shirts to give extra lining so the case doesn't move. I also put bubble rap inside the case to stop the cues moving inside and a padlock on the travel case.

Lastly if I go anywhere humid like the Far East or Middle East I put silica gel inside the travel case to absorb any moisture from long hall flights or from sudden climate change at the other side.

Sounds extreme but I no longer have any issues with my case or the cues having any movement in the wood.

just my two bobs worth and I hope that some of it helps you:)

SHIIIT. I just spent 85 for shipping to and fro Vegas via UPS. Up until this post, I was cool with it because those are my babies and I would never check them.

I don't know about internal flights although I have seen players take their cues on board travelling between cities in the Far East. However, on all international flights billiard cues are classed as weapons. so watch out for billiard cue welding terrorists!
