... here's a simple alignment system that I use to ensure consistency in postioning the rack to get perfect rack alignment each time on my home table.
First, align the rack such that the 1-ball is on the center of the spot and the 1-ball, the 9-ball and the bottom ball in a 9-ball rack is aligned with the lower and upper middle diamonds on the short rails. (photo 1)
Next, with a thin Sharpie, mark the cloth with a dot in alignment with the middle of the slot machined in the back of the Diamond rack.
Remove the rack and draw a "T" on the cloth... with the dot at the intersection of the two lines. (photo 2)
Next, re-position the rack again with the "T" underneath the slot in the rack... and then mark three (3) dots about 3" above the apex of the rack... with the center dot aligned with the white diamond on the rack. (photo 3)
When racking, align the "T" with the slot while aligning the point of the white diamond with the middle dot and you will have a perfectly aligned rack each time. (photo 4)
