The cases on e-bay seem ligit.. The guy selling is probably just a re-seller and has the cases in stock. What ever took place between the guy with the web site and the case maker is between them, and you hear only one side of the story. It is interesting he would attempt to hurt the ebay seller who is just a seller, probably someone who is no different them himself. The cases look "way" over priced for what they are.
Even if IndyQ got burned by this case maker and wants to slam him, I think the real story here is that manufacturers, distributors, and dealers are all watching E-Bay like a hawk.
E-Bay has become the pace-setting leader of "street retail" prices and a war- ground between the wholesale and retail outlets. It is also a way for manufacturers to discreetly sell their probucts directly to the public, undermining their own distributors and dealers.
Meucci had an E-Bay warning on their web site, this despite the likelyhood that more Meucci's are changing hands on E-Bay than anywhere else. Barringer and Talisman had a war which became public on E-Bay when Barringer started offering Moori's at $6 each and criticizing Talisman in the ad.
The "warning" is probably not really a warning. It's a slam. But consider what it's like to be heavily invested in your own business, then to have someone come along and rip you off like that. It's like people taking food off your family's dinner plate. If true, which I have no reason to doubt, it's just disgusting.
