forward balance with a bigger butt

I have shot with a decent amount of cues and recently moved up into the custom cue world. I currently have a whisler, pierce and a carmeli in my case.

They all hit great but I kind of miss the bigger diameter butt on the hueblers I used to have as well as a ned morris that I just sold. I have bigger hands and some of the cues seem to have thinner handles.

Is it possible to have the dimensions of the older style cues with the butt handle 1.25 or better but still have the forward balance and feel of the new thinner cues that are being produced.

I ask because with the older style cues had a rear balance. the thinner handles seem to have a forward balance. I would like the best of both worlds. My first custom was done by ariel carmeli and gave him full reign to make me a great cue. The next time around, I would like to be more involved in the process to dial it in for myself.

Thanks in advance for your input.

what your asking for is easily accomplished most builders should be able to do this without a issue.

Yes what your asking for is easily done. The way that I build my cues. I can make them thick or thin. I can change the balance point. I also have no weighting problems at all. I can also change the hit to better suit the players needs.

Do you change the hit with different tips and ferrules or with the cue itself?

I can change the hit with the type of coring wood that I use. Also by the taper of the butt and shaft combination. The ferulle and tip combinations can change the hit also. What I do is talk with the customer and find out what kind of hit they are looking for. The type of looks there wanting and then I pick out the wood for the core to better suit there needs. Give me a call sometime. Even if you go with someone else to build your cue. I can give you my opinion on what types of woods to get the hit you want.

thanks
