Found a set of ivory pool balls..

Buddy of mine called me this morning when I was half asleep.. He said hey there's a set of ivory pool balls and this thrift store and they are ten bucks.. You want them? I just said yes.

These things worth anything?
 
Depends on the condition and if someone really wants them. They are only good for collections or if you can find someone that wants to cut them up.

I've seen a full set of ivory pool balls sell for $5500 on eBay. What your friend found is almost certainly an old, yellowing set of phenolic balls. Maybe they are clay balls. But in case the 0.01% chance has come through, get yourself down to the thrift store. Sometimes miracles happen.

Do you know how to tell ivory from clay from phenolic balls?

If you got anything ivory and it's real, for $10....you scored regardless!

U'll mostly find ivory ball in 3 or 4 ball carom or billiard sets.
If you find a set of ivory numbered 1-15 pool balls you made a good score either way.
