My friend's franklin, one shaft 12.7 mm and in good shape.

9-pointer, birdseye maple into straight-grained coco.

Weight is around 20 oz. Original black linen wrap.

He is asking $2700, I have no idea if this is reasonable or not, anyone interested feel free to email me at rogeraye@gmail.com

Thanks,
Roger

Very, very nice! I'm not a fan of BEM nor cocobolo, but this one is a Beauty. The veneers are really sexy!

Hi Roger,

9 Pointers? Are you sure it is not 3 high and 3 low pointers?

Richard
Sw calls this design 9pt or "point within point". Rare, attractive and unusual IMO.:)

So, it is three high and three low points, with recut maple points into ebony with maple veneers ... is that what you are saying? I just want to make sure. Thank you.

Typical South Wests are 6 points, 3 high points and 3 low points. Their "9 point" cue is a recut point in each of the long point. Very rare as it is not done often, but I've seen several.

I don't personally agree with SW's designation, but yes...according to them, it's a 9-pointer.

-Roger (which would make recut cues with 4 veneers 20-pointers)

Was it Bender who started calling his cues with recut points this way?

It is quite commonly understood what a Southwest 9 pointers is. I think it is fine the way you described it. Nice cue by the way.

I see you have two Skip Weston cues. I am not familiar with Skip Weston's work. Doesn't Skip use recut points on his cues?

Good luck with the sales.:)

Richard
