Frédéric Caudron, that the public sees as the greatest current champion billiards carom all disciplines, his willingness to answer questions from readers Kozoom.

Note that Frederic Caudron has evaded any question and submitted the questionnaire was completed without any restrictions or changes.

Readers Kozoom Hello Frederic. You won hands down the World Cup 2009 in the field of 3 bands. Two questions come to mind of "aficionados" of the global pool:

1) The UMB award this victory by a bonus of 2500 €, do you think that's enough for all the efforts made for the star event of the billiard world? The organization of players you belong there a constructive dialogue with international bodies.
2) The number of World Cups, appears to decrease (only 5 last season, 4 in this calendar year), what is your analysis of this current lack of organizers so that the public appetite is growing to these major events?

Frédéric Caudron:

1) The reward is clearly not commensurate with the effort. Unfortunately, increased prize money is very slow. Through the intervention of the MBA, prices have already experienced twice an increase of 10%, divided between 9 to 32 seats in the first year and between 1 to 8 seats in the second.
2) The number of World Cups, not reduced but varies from season to season. It seems that there will be only 4 this year, but it is always possible that a fifth is additional to the calendar in the last minute.

Kozoom Players: The last World Cup-Hurghada revealed progression of young players such Legazpi cenet Palazon or Sidhom ... Have you identified future "big" players among them?

Frédéric Caudron:

Young Spaniards are already very strong: Palazon, Legazpi, Jimenez has already proved to have enormous qualities. However, it is unclear who will be very strong because there is a significant psychological aspect, and we do not know if they can master easily predict their nerves in all circumstances. There is also talent in France. Melnytschenko Soumagne and have already demonstrated their qualities, others will follow.

Readers Kozoom: You are one of the winners of the tournament legendary Carom Café in New York. Although open, the tournament that captivates all tournaments such as invitations AGIPI Billiard Masters or Crystal Kelly. Can you describe the atmosphere of this tournament so special?

Frédéric Caudron:

Playing many games in a few days is quite unusual in Europe, and it is especially what makes the charm of tournaments in the USA. And there was no referee for the qualifying rounds, however, everything goes well.

Readers Kozoom: Belgium is a leading nation of carom billiards, what is its future in its youth policy and follow up the evolution of such young Miatton Kenny and Andy de Bondt which are revealed in the junior competitions? What structures would you like for them and do you one day you invest in training young people?

Frédéric Caudron:

Unfortunately, the youth policy in Belgium has not advanced past 20 years. A kid who wants to advance must have the support of his parents and his club, and especially a strong dose of courage. Most of the good Belgian players have unfortunately reached the top thanks to their association ...

Readers Kozoom: Many questions on the forums Kozoom cover the equipment used by the champions. What are your preferences (weight, balance, stiffness, diameter, type of process) for your hardware? What is your average daily time spent on your training?

Frédéric Caudron:

Weight may vary between 520 and 550gr, and between 11.3 and 11.6 mm in diameter. But this is pretty personal. I often choose a queue without knowing what she weighs. Try it, and if it suits me, I look at what she weighs. The balance is to the process (with heavy arrows, between 120 and 130gr). My drum is thinner at the back (about 30mm in diameter, compared to others who have 32.5 or 33mm). A process rather too hard a little too soft. My daily drive: a daily half-hour rather than 4 hours every 3 days.

Kozoom Readers: So many voices are heard for a return to within 50 points in international competition, what is your opinion on the competition by traditional sets and distances?

Frédéric Caudron:

I prefer, like most players, the full distance. However, when I attend meetings (so as a spectator), I see the sets. There is a very different nervous tension in the matches set.

Readers Kozoom: The life of a champion like you, made tens of thousands of kilometers in one year and subject to considerations of results, only dream of an apprentice player: what lessons do you draw and satisfactions of this life extraordinary?

Frédéric Caudron:

Traveling a lot is already something very interesting. Make new knowledge and have friends around the world too. For the rest, it's like in life everyday, good and less good moments, nice and nasty ...

Readers Kozoom: When Belgian, you pushed the bar high at 47 / 1. What are your feelings about the loss of EC and MC of this difficult subject?

Frédéric Caudron:

The setting is very difficult, but less spectacular than 3 bands. Above all, many players are very slow. Part of 47 / 1 with many small points but more than 3 hours, it dulls even the best fans ...

Readers Kozoom: For three bands in competition, have you been in a situation where you did not know how to run the point? If yes, on reflection, did you succeed?

Frédéric Caudron:

There are very few situations unresolved. But it happened to me once not to try to make the point, because my ball was stuck in a corner with no hope of achieving the pile. So I pretended to massage by pushing the ball towards the opponent across the table for him to play the carrot ...

Readers Kozoom: regular game series brings t'elle more for practice and progress to 3 tapes or game modes are they completely independent?

Frédéric Caudron:

There is no evidence that this is essential, but the games series are a good basis for progress in 3 bands. There are many players who have not started the series of games, but who are in the top 3 bands.

Readers Kozoom: As this was done at one time, it was mentioned at one point a game in 1000 pts in the range between you and J. Paul de Bruijn, information or brainwashing? Are you tempted by this kind of challenges?

Frédéric Caudron:

It is very interesting, especially for the public benefit. It was mentioned a few years ago, but this could not be achieved due to lack of available dates. Perhaps an idea for the future? A challenge match to the 3 bands on a long distance is not bad either (250 points in several sessions for example).

Readers Kozoom: Your book "The growing pool" has become a reference for the 3 bands, would you consider a book on games of series?

Frédéric Caudron:

No book project about the game series so far ...

Kozoom Readers: Give yourself over your pool or animate internships?

Frédéric Caudron:

Too little time to teach courses or conduct ...

Kozoom: Thank you Frederic for having to respond to our users, and good luck for the 2010 season seems very good start.

Thanks for posting!

I was surprised that he says he only practices half an hour a day, or did I interpret that wrong?

Cuelemans says the same thing. I guess if you're at that level it only takes 30 minutes to keep brushed up.

I was disappointed that he has no time to mentor.

Great champion and great person, I've had the opportunity to talk with Fred a couple times, best player today without a doubt.

I like the occasional translation glitches...massage the ball...play your carrot..
