Hi all,

I'm 72 and feel it is time to part with my fancy Bob Frey custom. It has been in it's case, in the closet, for at least the last seven years. I bought it 2010 and sent it to Bob so he could make a new shaft for it.
He thought he had made it around 1991 and told me the white stuff may be ivory but couldn't remember for sure. However I can see what look like faint, slightly wavy, grain lines in the long spears in the
butt sleeve and forearm. The cue is in great condition and it rolls straight with the new shaft. The original shaft has a warp about seven inches back from the tip and the tip lifts about 1/8", when
assembled with the butt, and rolled on a good pool table. The warped shaft is about 12.25mm and the newer shaft is about 12.75mm
I'm asking $2,500.

Yes it is a great player and hits very good. I'm selling because I'm 72 years old and nolonger playing much.

Why do you think it is a Scruggs. It has Bob Frey's old F on the butt cap but more importantly Bob told he he made.

I don't really think it is a Scruggs. I know it is a Frey. What I am saying is that it is made just like a Scruggs. It is a well known fact that Frey cues play like Scruggs cues. Bob Frey has worked on Scruggs cues and knows how to build one.

I just did the red hot pin test on the joint and butt cap and nothing melted. Seems Bob was right on when he told me all the white stuff was ivory.

]Hi all,

My old fancy Bob Frey custom is still for sale. The sharpness of the points and colors of the verniers are fantastic, and the ivory inlays are great. I did the red hot pin test on collar and butt cap and nothing melted...must be ivory. The cue is in great condition and it rolls straight with the newer shaft. The original shaft has a warp about seven inches back from the tip and the tip lifts about 3/32", when assembled with the butt. The warped shaft tip is about 12.25mm and the newer shaft is about 12.75mm.
I'm asking $2,500.

Thanks,
henrylr
