friday night pool tournaments in illinois, chicagoland area?

Although I'm not from that area now, I believe there is a monthly newspaper called Chalk Talk that lists all of the tournaments in the entire Chicagoland area. The newspaper is available free at many Chicago area poolrooms. I don't know if they have a website, but there are many Chicago posters who will come on and give you the correct information.

Chalk Talk owned by John Stich went out of business several years ago.. Too bad, it was a great mag. InsideEnglish.com Sandy Schulman has her paper here now. You can email me and I will forward you all the tournament info in the area. windycityopen@aol.com

Pro-tyme billiards (www.protymebilliards.com) in Orland park has a weekly 8 ball tournament starting at 8:00, and a 9 ball tournament on thursdays that starts at 8:00 also. They have a nice room with 9 ft GC tables and Gorina cloth. Nothing I know of on friday nights though.

Chalk It Up Billiards(chalkitupbilliards.com) in Manteno (about 45 minutes south of downtown) has a Friday Night tournament (8 Ball) starting at 7:00pm. All 9 foot tables with simonis cloth and tight pockets. Interest has been getting slim lately. Last night only 4 players showed up, which wasn't enough to do anything. We ended up playing some scotch doubles.

For some reason, Friday nights just seem dead for pool. Maybe it's due to springtime... Or other stuff going on.

Otherwise, haven't got a clue.

I checked out that web site and it does not work. I have never heard of it before, and hope that it is available soon..
