I joined this site recently after waiting years to do it because I heard it was a great site. So without knowing the rules, and living in a free country, and having had some bad experiences with online sellers and cue makers who misrepresented the item they were selling, I expected to see sellers on this site get ribbed once in awhile (for whatever reason). But then I see replies where people criticize someone else's reply as being a violation of the rules, as though they want to rat out the person who posted the reply. It's like some people on this site are either trying to police the site, are thin-skinned, you name it. Pretty damn nit-picky if you ask me. OK, maybe running a sale like an auction is worthy of not being allowed (but I don't see the harm). But treating sarcastic comments like they're a crime? BFD. Come on guys, this is the US, not communist China. Which brings me to the rules. I finally saw them, and I thought I was in China. Correct me if I'm wrong, but no criticism of a seller is allowed, regardless of the situation? Even if he takes my money but doesn't send the cue (grand theft), misrepresents the cue (says it's straight but it shows up crooked), etc? Sorry, but if someone rips me off, it is my right to tell the world about it, rules or no rules, and that's exactly what I would do if a seller did that to me on this site. The fact is, the potential of being exposed and shamed is what would keep unscrupulous sellers off this site or any other such site, just like the chance of getting negative feedback discourages sellers from ripping off people on ebay. And again, rules or no rules, this is not China. This is the USA. As for the Hoppe, yeah, I think it's overpriced (I got a Lee Peppers conversion, but not a Hoppe, for $200), but the Hoppe is a nice cue, and if I have any questions about it, I'll PM the seller.
