After a several year hiatus from shooting, I'd like to sell my Samsara cue I had made in very early 98. I honestly don't know what the value of this cue is. I wanted to say immaculate condition, but after inspection under lights, I did find a small blemish in the burl at the buttplate. There is a photo with light on that, shown and circled. When I say it is slight, I mean slight. It is a beautiful cue w/2 shafts, both standard length (58"), has joint protectors to match, and other than maybe needing the finish polished out again, it is in excellent condition. With a polish job, the butt can be made to look brand new. The shafts are discolored from use as can be seen in the photos. There are NO dings in them whatsoever, and they are newly re-tipped (few weeks ago) with Kamui Super-Softs ($70). Shafts are 12.5mm (both).

This cue is actually quite impressive in spite of its very tasteful and simple colors. Back then, Samsara's signature design was the zig-zags which I had them add in 3 layers at every opportunity. It is a 6 point cue with two length points. The points are 3 layer laminates as well. The cue is predominately Tiger Maple with Cherry Burl. Some ebony as well. I specifically wanted a cue that looked simple untill you got it in your hands and it delivers. It has no gaudy colors or overemphasized inlay work. It's just simple and beautiful. It has a 5/16-18 joint. The cue is as straight as the day it was made, it rolls absolutely perfect with either shaft. The ferrules are in great shape and are the originals. This cue has been sitting in a case for some years now.

In the one photo I see that in the joint on the butt it has 594 stamped into the wood. I do not know if that is a serial number or what it is. This cue to my knowledge had no model number or style associated with it. I specified everything on this cue from stem to stern.

I would appreciate any value estimates anyone is willing to provide. I honestly don't know what this cue is worth. I asked at one Samsara dealer and was told a number I think was unrealistically high. It's nice, but I can't imagine a cue that was used could appreciate in value. The cue was $1800 new in March 98. Going strictly from my own perception of its value, I'd take $1300 no haggling. I was told that in its present condition, it could bring considerably more than that, I don't believe it.

Butt: 15.4oz
Shafts 3.8oz (both the same)

I was told by a friend this was the place to list the cue. This is my first post here but I am sure I can get references from a number of regulars on the forum.

location, Williamsport, PA. Call Five Seventy, 8 Sixty Five, Four thousand one. Phil.

I did a little more poking around and I'm again told, this is a pretty good deal on a Samsara. It's been cared for like a first born male child. It just needs a new shooter connnected to it and it's all good to go.

Thanks, I think so too. Actually, the photos don't do the zig-zag rings justice. The exposure on the pics makes them seem really dark, and in truth they stand out pretty well.

I'm considering buying an OB shaft for it and just keeping it. It doesn't appear as if there's much demand here for things in this price range.
