'$200? You walk into a shoe store with $200 you come out with one shoe' - paraphrased from the Late Great Fast Eddie Felson.
Edit: I want to add to this that cue cases, especially custom cases are mostly underpriced and undervalued when compared to other leather goods. Try and go to a "real" leatherworker who is usccessful and get him to make you this case or a Whitten or almost any type of cue case of any decent quality for this price.
Go to www.leatherworker.net and put this case up and ask if anyone there will make it for $300. I predict that there will be very few takers if any and none of the top people will touch it for that price.
I am not laying down a guilt trip here just pointing out that making a cue case, especially one like this, is harder than making a briefcase or a purse and if one compares apples to apples then custom cue cases are for the most part a pretty good bargain. Especially if they are priced as low as this and they are well made.
If people aren't snapping this up it's most likely due to the design not turning them on and perhaps the economy as well. We have seen a major increase in sales of $50-150 cases as opposed to $200-$250 cases. People are just holding onto their money and are less likely to be frivolous or impulsive with it for a while.
John, I couldn't agree more that cases seem undervalued. I can assure you that this is as cheap as it gets, and the price is this low because we did this on our own time experimenting with new ideas, and tools.
I think that this case turned out awesome and would love for someone to have it. Money is tight everywhere right now so I can understand that the case market is slow (all markets are!). This, however, is not our bread and butter, it is a hobby. A hobby that I enjoy very much, especially when the lightbulb goes off and we realize that we should do something this way or that, or when we try something different and it works.
Whether these cases sell immediately or not, we aren't going anywhere and our prices can only go in one direction as supplies and time don't allow for them to be any cheaper!
Oh, and for the people out there looking for the gamble on an off chance collector: this is our first case with our new brand on it! :shocked2:
Felix, I'll pm you with my number or you can pm me yours if you prefer that I call you. I'll be here working on cases for the next four days. I have a couple of blank slates ready to go. Let's get something worked out and on it's way to you!
