FS: Cognoscenti - Ivory / Ebony w/ 2 shafts

Leil Gay won the 1997? US Open 1-Pocket Championship in Kalamazoo, MI with this cue. He has played with it ever since. However due to financial needs he must part with this cue.

The cue is a Cognoscenti with Ebony butt and forearm that has Ivory inlaid and 2 Cog shafts with Mori tips.


I will have the cue tomorrow and will post actual pics of the cue but right now I am looking for offers. The cue is a good shape about 90%. While talking with Leil this evening he told me there is 1 nick on the butt but is is hardly noticeable.

I've hit balls with this cue at Randolph's in Hickory this year at a Viking stop and it is a great hitting cog and Liel has to have a sick feeling about giving up this hit. Wish i was working I'd buy it but I couldn't afford a cueball from Mike this weekend at Grady's even if he through in a t shirt.

Leil (Jr) is disgusted that he has to sell his cue. He was counting on the money owed to him from the IPT but they have not sent him anything in months. He is Dead broke. I know this is breaking his heart to have to sell this cue. I could hear it in his voice when I talked to him this evening.

Anyway, I told him that I would help to try and sell it for him and give him 100% of the money for the cue.

If someone wants a great playing cue for a geat price I highly suggest this cue.

I have seen this exact cue with 1 shaft for sale for over $3,000.

About a year ago while Leil was down here matching up with the local short-stops he let me hit a few racks with this very cue... The hit is phenomenal, I loved it.
Hate to see yet another good pool player doing bad financially. Hopefully this money helps him get back on his feet.

My wife picked up the cue from Leil Gay this evening on her way to work. She works 7p to 7a. This means I will have actual pics of the cue up tomorrow.

Also, the current bid of $1,925 is still low for this cue. I am sure Leil would be happy to get that amount right now because of his financial situation but c'mon guys you know it is worth more than that.

Do I hear $2,250 ?????

It has been atleast a year since Joey has made a cue it might be worth more then that..
