I am selling my Chris Hightower Micro Cue Smith III. This is an earlier version, just as capable as his newest. It is in very good condition, no rust anywhere, I've not had the opportunity to use it as much as I'd like to have, between military training, job and family requirements. With my new job coming up, I don't see that changing.
I'm willing to bet this is the only machine that Chris has sent to Afghanistan, where it was used to repair cues over there at the Kandahar MWR, between 2009 and 2010. I suppose that makes it a collectible, sorta. : P
This machine comes with many accessories, collets, most common lathe pins and inserts, center drills, two live centers one concave, the other square for putting on tips, automatic tip shaper, wrapping motor foot controller (not shown, but included), various asst of tool bits, boring bar, two bottles of shaft cleaner, one bottle of cue buff, ferrules, butt and shaft inserts, three boxes of tips, soft and medium Kamui tips. Whew! That's a run on sentence there... Deep breath...
This has just about everything that a beginner cueman would need to replace tips, wraps, ferrules etc. At the least, it's a very good start, for a fraction of a new machine. Heck, the tips alone are worth quite a bit.
I'm asking $800, or best reasonable offer, plus shipping. I'd prefer local pickup, if possible, but I will ship, no problem. Click the link below for many detailed pictures, if you see something you'd like a closer inspection of, please feel free to pm me.
I'd also like to thank Chris and his family for going way out of their way to send this big package overseas. A lot of the military and civilian personnel were able to have their cues worked on properly, which made for some good times on the table. Thanks, Chris.
