Shill Bidding

I have been reading this forum for some time, but never posted previously. However, this particular subject pissed me off enough to do so. I bid on this cue and stopped bidding at $555.55 when I discovered that this cue sold on March 8 for $400. Then, lo and behold, I received a 2nd chance offer after the cue had been sold for $730. Obviously, if I was the 2nd highest bidder at $555.55 then the 5 bids between my bid and the winning bid were all fake. While I would love to have purchased this cue, I didn't appreciate being used and abused for the sake of a few insignificant $$$'s. My offer to purchase the cue for what he paid for it was met with silence. Not even an attempt to negotiate because I suspect he was either embarassed the bidding scam was discovered, or he is simply a whore. Sorry about the rant.

the reason why i listed the item as private auction was so that the buyer can list the cue at the higher price the next time if he/she wishes to put it on ebay. the winning bidder of the cue backed out. what can i do?

Then since I was sent a 2nd chance offer via ebay, and I was the 7th highest bidder, according to your logic, the top 6 bidders backed out. I find that less than credible, to put it nicely.

Exactly, and there's tons of this buddy crap going on here with post about what a great value and its worth alot more, why dont they buy it.Who cares what someone says about the value of a cue anymore,I think people are starting to realize the SHILL post here on az now a days. Pool is all about the hustle and whether its on the table or trying to aquire a cue its all about the hustle

I agree, someone is always putting in there insignificant 2 cents worth. Oh what a great buy, this one won't last long at that price ect. WTF, buy it if it's so cheap. Hell you can resell it and makes lots of money if it's THAT cheap! Then we have it hits a ton, monster hitter etc by the seller and previous owners. All hype and hustle like you said, definately shill posts.

I'm sorry if some get offended but I just have to speak the truth sometimes and not care whose feet I step on but az is now a haven for the market manipulators and dont care if I ever buy another high end cue,its justed turned me off and a few others I know. I like to deal straight up and no bullshit and know many sellers here and on ebay who I have done business with before and will continue to only with them, but have seen even some of them stoop to any means to move a cue.. Its turned many off and thats one reason the market is very slow. This seller must think were all stupid,go sell your cue in singawhore!

i must apollogize because when i first posted in this thread.. my intention that i thought it was a scam because the price was so low and when i saw the private bidder auction i really thought it was.. but then when the person asked me a question about why i thought the price was too low, i preceeded to give him my thoughts.. i wasnt or had any intention for him to try and raise the price.. i just added my opinion.. as far as the shill bidding goes.. that is one reason why i think they should outlaw the private bidder auctions..because it truley isnt fair to everybody else because the seller can get away with manipulating the price and the prospective buyer has no clue..

and as far as that goes.. i was also not trying to raise the market price up for jack's cues.. i do own one and i did buy it from a forum member here and i have no intentions on ever selling it.. jacks quality effort and craftsman ship will be enough to raise the market price.. his cues are getting higher and higher everyday.. with that being said.. thanx.chris

I met Jack at valley forge this year and he is a very nice person and was impressed with his work, everything lined up and the detail was great. I do plan on trying to aquire one in the future.

alright. my intention of listing the cue as a private bidder auction was for the good of the winning bidder of the cue. It would be difficult for him to sell off the cue at a higher price if he wishes to if it weren't so. As for the shill bidding, the bids were just not coming in, and there was no way i could change the starting bid. But i assure u there were no shill posts. Those posts were made merely out of good will. i sincerely apologize to those who were offended and to Jack for having disrespected his cues in anyway.

So he just admitted he is a whore. What a lame ass explanation that is, but certainly no contrition for his actions. Why would anybody believe this liar or buy a cue from him in the future?
